This is a help page for the SecuRbAn risk assessment tool

A location with ideological or prominence value is a location that amplifies the [[Object with symbolic value|symbolic value] of an object located at that position.

  • As an example, a mosque carries some ideological value, but if this mosque is located in Jerusalem or even on the temple mount, its ideological value increases multifold.
  • As another example, any trade center might be considered a symbol for the Western or capitalist world, but if that trade center is located in the biggest city of the most capitalist country in the world, and it is housed in a very prominent building (stands out from the other buildings, is well known, has a reputation), then for terrorists it will increase the attractiveness of that particular building over other trade buildings.
