Supporting report
A supporting report contains detailed information about the various aspects of the planned urban object from the developer's (private or public) point of view.
Description
The core components of the development's business case may be included in a supporting report. In practice it is required to demonstrate that the proposal is consistent (closely aligned) with the local development plan (Zoning Plan or on a legally binding land-use plan), which in turn compromises a set of documents that set out the local authority's policies and proposals for the development and use of land. Put differently, a development plan guides day-to-day decisions as to whether or not planning permission for a development proposal should be granted or not.
