This associated meaning might be extremely positive (such as a place of worship) or negative (such as a symbol for oppression). One should realise that what constitutes an ideologically attractive object should be assessed from the viewpoint of the fanatic.

Knowing the ideological value of an object is important to be able to estimate the drive of a fanatic or fantic movement to attack or 'protect' an object (which could for an outsider amount to much the same).
